
Thanks to one of my (surprisingly numerous) Turkmen caps, and a former fatherly tie, I built a Turkmen out of snow + ice and put him in my backyard in Pittsburgh. Just a note, I have never met a round Turkmen, nor one with such large nerd glasses.

These three number among my favorite artifacts of my Budapest days. Most of them I found near Hősök tere, the square of Heroes. This is the same place we went when Hungary entered the European Union, May 1, 2004, when a toothless and purple-eyed Shane MacGowan serenaded the Magyars into the union. I think I found them in the basement of the Szépművészeti Múzeum.
