I sketched out a page of notes on startup law—a colorful, visual checklist of what every startup should do to protect themselves legally.
I’d been learning about business entities, contracts, and intellectual property, and as a designer and a note-taker, I couldn’t help but turn it into a sketchnote. It became a little roadmap for startup founders: where to begin, what to file, what to watch out for.
It covers things like:
– Choosing the right business structure
– Registering intellectual property
– Drafting solid agreements
– Protecting the team and the idea
It’s funny to look back now because the basics still hold up—but laws and best practices change fast. So if you use it as inspiration or a guide, remember to check with a lawyer or updated resources before making decisions for your business.
I’ve turned the sketch into a premium art print, perfect for hanging in an office, coworking space, or even your home desk to remind you of the fundamentals. It’s printed on beautiful heavyweight matte paper and available in a few sizes.
If you’re starting something—or just love startups and visual notes—I hope it gives you both a smile and a little clarity.
