The Kara Doll
I made this drawing last year at this time, for Newfoundland when I went there (8 months pregnant and all..) In person, it is indeed that full of colorful houses, but the water is a little more purply & scary.
On a recent trip to Budapest, I was taken with the arts & crafts styles of Hungarian dresses, pillows, and other felt things. So I drew some Central European inspired donuts.
A phone drawing of a Turkish Teyze (aunt). Drawn over a Nescafe in Eskisehir. Colors!
As requested by a soon-to-be-wed couple, my slight parody of bad engagement photos — but keeping it relatively classy & not too vulgar or cheesy.
An old drawing, from a few years ago, trying to plan out some possible t-shirt designs
A quick self-portrait in as few lines as I could — I even sacrificed my eyebrows for brevity. It’s a nice challenge, I encourage you to do the same!
An illustrated quote I attribute to my baby, protesting his parents’ incessant food-to-baby metaphors.
Another phone sketch, trying out different drawing apps. This one is from Samsung’s notebook app.
